Phones will impact people's lives

The use of smart phones will result in the wastage of money because people will have to purchase some apps that they will need for their daily usage. Smart phones app developers have discovered that people have a desire to have apps that suit their lifestyles, and they will spend money to acquire the apps. The apps that are sold are normally essential ones like weather apps. There are new devices that are released into the market every year, and most people will prefer to purchase and use the newest gadget. For smart phones, this is a wastage of money since the old phone can still perform the necessary tasks (Miller, 2012), and one is getting a new phone because it is there. This is a clear wastage of money, which they could use for other purposes. Playing games on the phones is fun, but most of the games have restrictions, which require the user to make a purchase in order to advance to the next level. The games are normally fun and addictive (Yun, Kettinger, & Lee, 2012), which has made it quite easy for the users to purchase the game. Though the price charged is negligible, it is a wastage of money because the user will have more than two games that they play and have to purchase. The free games available have advertisements that can be frustrating since the phone is connected to the internet, and their adverts keep popping up. In order to remove these advertisements, the player is encouraged to purchase the full game. In order to avoid buying the game, al the user would have to do is disconnect their internet connection when playing the game, but this would result in them not receiving any online chats or emails. Mobile data charges are higher, and they can be deemed a wastage of money.

Having a smart phone means that most of the time the user's mobile data is always on, and they can receive emails and chats on the go, but the downside to all this is that one does not need the full time connection. It is easy for one to switch on their mobile data when they need it, and this would not be a wastage.

People nowadays will concentrate so much on their mobile phones, which does affect their physical communication. When two strangers meet on the street, they cannot start a conversation because each one is focused on their phone. This affect the level of communication in that one only communicates with whom they know. In any public transportation, you will notice that everyone is busy on his or her phone, and they are rarely aware of their surroundings. It is possible for friends not to see each other since they are both concentrating on their phones. This breakdown in communication is affecting the human need to socialize (Salehan & Negahban, 2013), and it is because of the mobile phone. People have become so anti-social all because of phones. When two people are focused on their phone, they are least likely to initiate a conversation with one another, which demonstrates that phones do actually impact people's lives. Focusing on the phone when performing daily activities like walking, crossing the road, or driving has been reported to have devastating consequences. When a person is walking on the street, and they are focused on their phone they are least aware of their surroundings, and they can get lost or keep on bumping into others. Crossing the road when using the phone is highly discouraged, but many people will do it and this could result in an accident. The person who crosses the road without looking is most likely to be hit since they did not see the car approaching. Driving and texting or talking is the number one contributor to some….....
