Lesson Objectives: The student will demonstrate an understanding of appropriate hand, oral, and respiratory hygiene; safe injections; and the methods of safely cleaning surfaces in a dental office, as recommended by the regulatory body of the CDC

Ideally, I believe that lesson objectives should be very focused in nature. By making guidelines overly broad, the most critical aspects of the lesson may easily be forgotten. I also believe that for a skill such as this, there must be a demonstration component.
Students should be able to demonstrate that they have achieved very specific outcomes in a hands-on fashion when learning about a professional skill that could affect the lives of others.
