The phenomenon of globalization is a very controversial one, as some people are against it despite the fact that they are aware that the process is unavoidable. From the early ages people have felt the need to socialize and civilizations have been absorbed into one another. The process of globalization has both advantages and disadvantages, but, people are dedicated to making it happen regardless to the consequences that their actions have.
The human race started building civilization several millennia ago, and, from there on, humans have become addicted to it. It is in the human nature to constantly seek for advancement and to interact with others. One of the main disadvantages that civilization poses, however, is that is provides better grounds for evil to develop. Crimes are taken to a whole new level in the modern world. Another disadvantage that globalization brings is the fact that vices are also advancing and people are enslaving themselves through the deviant acts that they perform.
Of course, one can observe the benefits that globalization has brought when looking at the technological and medical advancements that have been done. Education is a primary benefit brought by globalization. Thousands of years of interacting between numerous cultures have made possible the existence of the civilized world we live in today. Globalization has assisted humans in making the world a more comfortable place for them to live in.
Globalization has made it possible for people everywhere to interact without any major impediments in their way. Throughout history, nations have fought and conquered each-other with no one to stand in their way. Because of globalization, wars have decreased significantly and people are entitled to believe that world wars will never occur again.
Less developed countries have been provided with assistance from the better developed, Western countries.

Globalization is one of the factors which made such an occurrence possible.
There are individuals that pay great attention to cultural values and customs, believing that globalization is virtually destroying nations and cultural identity. However, even those people cannot say that globalization hasn't brought benefits for them. Globalization has been one of the main causes for the spreading of technology all over the world.
People and even whole nations have attempted to stop globalization from entering their countries, believing that they could survive independently and without the need of any outside interactions. The Nazi regime is representative for a nation which promotes nationalism and rejects the concept of having to live together with people that have different ethnic backgrounds. On the other side, it is obvious that the Nazi propaganda was defying the laws of logical thinking since they started a world war because of their need to expand their so called "world war" .
Cambodian leader Pol-Pot has attempted to free' his people of technology and of most things brought by globalization. When looking into this case, one can see that the act has had disastrous consequences and that extreme nationalism is damaging for the well-being of humanity.
Globalization cannot be stopped because of the fact that nations have become accustomed to interacting with other nations and that people want to express their need for diversity.
Philosophers like Mahatma Gandhi lobbied against the globalism coming from the West because he was certain that it would destroy everything that was natural about India. He succeeded in promoting his beliefs and making people unite in a movement supporting world peace. However, his struggle to save India from becoming a victim of globalization had failed.
