CKDFramework

The project's framework will be loosely based on Nola Pender's DOH model. Pender's model, as presented in 1996, was designed to look at how different "behavioral cognitions and competing demands on physical activity among Taiwanese adolescents" (Tsu-Yin, Pender, 2002, p. 26). Pender's 1996 study was designed to consider how cognition, environment and action all influence the individual's health promotion efforts.

This project seeks similar data and knowledge and will look at the various influences and factors that help to determine the rate of CKD in Clermont County, Ohio. The health promotion project will be much more limited in scope than the Pender study, primarily due to time and funding constraints.

The fundamental premise of the researcher is that the intervention will promote a positive reduction in the incidence of CKD in a certain population. The project will look at variables including; gender, age, and general physical fitness.
