One god unites the nation, strengthens rulers authority much more than many different small gods who are popular in some local territories but not in the whole country.

Though religion was an important kind of rulers support, but it was not that important as strong army which was the main fulcrum of king's power in the country. Ruler was a commander in chief of all armed forces of a state and hardly ever allowed very close and reliable people to head the army.

To sum up the written essay I'd like to admit that Mesopotamia was a very developed and progressive country of the Close East and whole world. Its achievements were assimilated by many nations and even now we use those sciences which had appeared and developed in Mesopotamia. Mesopotamian civilization influenced all nations of ancient world, especially Persians, Egyptians, Jews, Greeks and even Arabic state of 8th century AD.

Mesopotamian religion is an excellent example of changing different separate myths in one united religion which had own gods, believes, ideals and moral values. If we analyze the history of political power in Egypt, Greece, Rome, Persia, even in some medieval European countries, we'll find out that ruler was considered there as gods protege as well. This ancient idea was actual during the whole human's history and it is actual even today in some countries. This holy Muslim book was placed in the museum in his motherland and became a very popular sacral thing for millions of Iraqi Muslims.

Mesopotamian religion influenced all later religions a lot and what is more important - it influenced Christianity a lot. We learn many facts about Babylon from the holy book - Bible which was written by wise Jewish men who knew different Babylonian myths and Mesopotamian history. Also we learn about Mesopotamia from the first historian - Herodotus who lived in early Greece and knew much about Mesopotamian and Egyptian influence on his homeland. For example, he wrote about different gods and rituals assimilated by Greeks.

Spiritual and astronomic knowledge of Mesopotamia enriched human knowledge in ancient times. Numerous literature texts and myths enriched tradition, customs and history of all ancient nations of that region.

Mesopotamian history, religion and the whole civilization of this unique and great nation will always remind us about the times of first states, first languages and understanding of hostile but amazing environment. This time is an example of human's strength and dynamism of relations between people who didn't give up and created the greatest civilization of ancient Close East. Memory about Mesopotamia and its nation is eternal......
