The data gathered suggest that the town is facing a decline in population. This is mainly the result of the youth leaving school for educational and employment opportunities in urban areas. After leaving high school these youth see no opportunities for building a life in Platoville, and tend to seek better opportunities elsewhere. A plan of action is needed to curb this trend. The first point to address is to create an image of Platoville as a vibrant and exciting place to live, particularly for the young.
