As noted in the case study, many physicians were heavily resistant to the change and deliberately attempted to the undermine the system to maintain the status quo. Here, these provides evidence that all physicians were not properly onboarded throughout the CPOE process. Although resistance to change is to be expected with a technology shift as large as the one mentioned in the case, it is not customary to have such vehement disagreement and outright disregard for the policy overall (Chern, 1992). This indicates that physicians may have a deficiency with properly leveraging the technology for their benefit.
