After this troubling question, the poet throws up his hands, no wiser than before. At the end of this poem of pulsating, drum-beat of questions in a sing-song of nursery rhymes, the poem returns to the beginning. The poetic drum retains the short metrical feet: "Tyger! Tyger! burning bright / in the forests of the night, / What immortal hand or eye/Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?" And the repetition suggests the poet is no wiser about the goodness of God's creation, and the origin of the tiger, lamb, and the world.
