Society has experienced much progress when considering the concept of the workplace and this is reflected by how modern people comprehend this respective idea. From my perspective, careers have evolved significantly as a consequence of technology pervading most domains and making it virtually impossible for individuals to avoid being influenced. What was considered an IT-specialist just a few years ago is a perfectly normal worker today -- the world reached a point where the majority of individuals need to be experienced in using a series of devices in order to integrate the social order effectively.

The current labor market is often misunderstood and considered unwelcoming. This is largely due to the fact that many entry-level workers are inclined to be particularly selective with regard to their workplace and thus have trouble gathering the experience they need in order to actually be able to progress. As they consider the wide variety of roles they initially have to take on, many fail to gain a complex understanding of their position and end up finding it difficult and almost impossible to receive appreciation.

The labor market provides an evolutionary means of experiencing progress and by following a series of relatively easy steps individuals can reach higher levels. Through looking for internships rather than paid permanent positions, students are more likely to build experience and can thus find it easier to integrate the job market. This makes it possible for someone to understand how the industry works and the fact that in order to experience best results a person would have to follow a path that is clearly devised. This respective individual needs to assess the condition he or she is in, the market's demands, and the attitudes that he or she needs to employ in order to experience positive results in his or her endeavor.

Employability is a collection of values that enable the individual to play an active role in the job market. "Employability -- understood in this book as a set of achievements, understandings, and personal attributes that make individuals more likely to gain employment and be successful in their chosen occupations -- has since emerged as a priority in the UK and is becoming an international concern, although other countries label it differently." (Knight viii) Higher education is an important player in providing individuals with a larger employability rate. Knowledge is a principal source of wealth in the contemporary society and individuals are thus more probable to be employed as a consequence of having attended higher education.

Question d.

Even if a person has little to no experience, he or she is likely to learn a great deal as a result of attending an alumni event or a graduate recruitment fair. These events provide the chance to interact with employers and to learn more about what they are searching for in terms of employees. An individual being present at such an event can take advantage of the opportunity to talk directly with employers and to provide them with his or her CV in the prospect that they might be interested in hiring the respective person. Having a first-person experience of jobs available and employers seeing for workers can be especially significant in helping a person find a job.

Question e.

The fact that I have had a background in working in managerial positions provides me with an obvious advantage when searching for a job. My experience enabled me to gain a complex understanding of the job industry in general both because of my direct work and because I was able to interact and interview job candidates. I learned more about what a person needs in order to be a successful candidate and about the small details that make the difference between someone who is rejected and someone who gets the job.

One of my strengths is definitely my self-confidence -- this enables me to keep my calm in stressful situations and to thus be able to overcome problems without losing control. From my perspective, by believing and, obviously, by being familiar with, one's own powers, an individual is much more likely to succeed. Firstly, he or she can have little to no problems understanding his or her limitations, and secondly, he or she can cooperate with employers in an attempt to use his or her abilities to the fullest.

My greatness weakness is that I have little to no experience working as a subordinate. While many are likely to ignore this concept when looking for a job, I personally believe that an individual who is well-acquainted with the attitudes he or she needs to take when working with their managers is more probable to experience success in their careers.
Gradually becoming a manager can be much more rewarding than being one from the beginning of a person's career, both when considering the individual's knowledge and his or her psychology.

The fact that I've previously worked in managerial positions can also be an opportunity for me, as employers are likely to acknowledge my likeliness to fare better as an administrator. Similarly, my experience can represent a threat in situations involving companies much larger than the ones I've worked in the past -- this might cause me to have a limited understanding of these work environments and can pose a serious problem as I'm trying to adapt. The stress in these cases is probable to be much larger than pressure I've dealt with before and it would thus be essential for me to take on jobs that I'm certain I can perform rather than to accept positions that I know very little about.

Question f.

I'm currently planning to apply for jobs that have a lot of things in common with positions I've previously worked in. I believe that my experience is essential in this case and this makes it possible for me to express interest in areas that I'm very familiar with.

Alternatively I'm thinking about taking a bigger step and starting an internship in a field that I have a limited understanding in. By taking on such an attitude, I can expand my horizons and I'm certain I would be more likely to be successful in my future career (Hennenberg 9). The principal downside in performing an internship would be the financial aspect, thus meaning that I would have to search for a paid internship in order to balance my life accordingly. I've given much thought to this option and I believe that by concentrating on finding an internship that is in agreement with my needs I can evolve much more effectively.

Question a.

I would very much enjoy working in a corporation in the future both because of the career-related opportunities and because of the knowledge coming along with it. While working in a small firm provides the ability to be in control of the business and to actually be well-acquainted with the attitudes one needs to take in order to resolve most situations, working in a large company means that the individual needs to adapt to any situation and to go through great efforts in order to provide a solution to problems that he or she might come across.

A Paid PA / Management Six Months Internship is somewhat in agreement with what I'm currently searching for in terms of a job. While many might feel inclined to disregard an internship on account of the low pay associated with it, I believe that working as a Personal Assistant can provide someone with a great deal of experience that the respective person can use in order to progress in his or her career.

The fact that the managing director of the company advertising this position is particularly notable when it comes to successful market strategies contributes to me being interested in the job. While I've worked as a manager in the past, I acknowledge the fact that a person can always progress and that working as an administrator is not always the key to experiencing progress. Many are actually likely to limit themselves as a consequence of accepting to work in the same position for their whole lives.

A paid internship as a PA can provide an individual with the chance to work in the same environment as the company's managing director. This can eventually prove to be essential in shaping the respective individual's understanding of the industry and his or her ability to adapt to an environment that can initially seem intimidating. The fact that the position would be provided in busy company that is constantly growing and is currently one of Britain's fastest growing news platforms further contributes to emphasizing the importance of the role. Having access to knowledge provided by a person in charge of such a firm would certainly be educational and would make it possible for me to gain a more complex understanding of the idea of progress.
